Predicate 'By appointment to the court of the Netherlands'

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander has decided to grant Cox Geelen B.V. the right to bear the Royal Coat of Arms 'By Appointment to the Court of the Netherlands' on the occasion of the company's 150th anniversary. Today, Governor Roemer presented the certificate that accompanies this predicate to the proud entrepreneurs.

In 1870, Mr Theodorus Hubertus Cox started an art forge and factory in Roermond manufacturing agricultural equipment and stoves. After his death, his two sons took over the business, after which son Henricus continued on his own in 1935. In 1940, the company started to focus on flue-gas pipes and the third generation was at the helm. After moving several times, the company has been located in Eijsden-Margraten since 1970. Since 2019, the German company Skoberne GmbH has been a 100% shareholder in Cox Geelen. Cox Geelen has remained independent in terms of company policy and is exclusively engaged in the development, production and sale of flue gas exhaust systems, ventilation products and heat pump housings. They are ISO 9001 certified and export to around 30 countries worldwide.

About becoming a Supplier by Appointment to the Court of the Netherlands
The guidelines for being allowed to use the designation 'Purveyor by Appointment to the Court of the Netherlands” require, among other things, that the company exists for at least 100 years and is the first or leading company in its branch or industry in the region.

Because of the Corona pandemic, the predicate “by Appointment to the Court of the Netherlands” was awarded a year after the 150th anniversary.
